How online classes are affecting our eyes?

So no-one told us year 2020 was gonna be this way!




 

It’s too funny that where parents hardly agreed on giving their phones to children for few minutes , are really buying smartphones, iPad for their child to take classes and letting them spent hours on them. More funny thing is where teacher used to threaten students if they make noise or talk in the class they will straight away throw them out of class, are calling out  names and telling to unmute the students and be interactive. 
 
COVID-19 is a blast and has created a real change across the world , I will say this change was needed. Every body had noticed a different kind of shift in their lifestyle, some are liking it but majority doesn’t! 



 

HOW ONLINE CLASSES ARE AFFECTING STUDENTS? 

  

Not only students but also all the employees, staffs who are doing work from home are suffering in different ways. 

                                      

 

What are the major symptoms shown by students? 



 

  • Headache
  • Eyestrain 
  • Dryness
  • Burning sensation 
  • Ear problems 
  • Hardly be able to concentrate in the screen .
 

What is the prevailing age of these symptoms? 

 

Age group of 8 - 10 years majorly , in-fact every age group individual is facing these problems!

 

What about ear problems ? 



 

Prolong use of ear phones , can cause tinnitus. 

Migraine patient are the real sufferers both by long screen time and sound issues!

Ear phones can cause infections , as they block the ear passages and sharing of ear phones are also not advisable ! 

 

Yeah definitely online classes are saviours on the lockdown as we are updated , and our syllabus is getting covered gradually but it can never meet the benefit of being in a class room , interacting with teachers and taking breaks , interacting with other students and learning from each other . 

 

HOW WE CAN  TAKE CARE OF OUR EYES ? 


 

  • Use laptops, or put your screen at least at  one hand distance.
  • Good illumination of the room.
  • Right posture 
  • Use of good earphones.
  • Use external speakers.
  • Use blue cut lenses .
  • Use 20-20-20 rule . After every 20 minutes look , at 20 feet away for 20 seconds .
  • Good balance diet , Rich in vitaminA .
  • Good sleep .






             






 

Request your teachers to take breaks in between, divide the topic into smaller ones, it will help in maintaining the concentration. And you are home so have a good balance diet.
